Why Meditation Can Purify the Mind

Meditation

Imagination can serve as a form of spiritual refuge. Setting aside some time each day for meditation allows the mind to organize scattered thoughts, temporarily forget fatigue and worries, and enter a new state of self-transcendence. Through meditation, one can engage in inner dialogue, distance oneself from mental disturbances, and alleviate feelings of depression.

Benefits of Meditation
Regular meditation helps regulate brain activity, allowing a stressed brain to relax. It promotes the balanced use of both hemispheres of the brain, effectively “recharging” the body’s overall health. Therefore, those who meditate frequently are more likely to attain a state of peace and happiness.

During meditation, brain waves become more stable, emotions gradually become calmer, and the body relaxes. It can even strengthen the immune system. As the body slows down in meditation—relaxing muscles, cells, and circulation—not only does one experience inner peace, but after a period of deep relaxation, creativity, imagination, and inspiration begin to flow. This leads to significant improvements in judgment and comprehension.

The mind becomes sharper, attention is easier to focus, and the body and mind achieve a state of stability, joy, and tranquility.

How to Practice Meditation
For beginners, meditation may feel challenging due to racing thoughts and distractions. To ease into the practice, start by closing your eyes and focusing on your breath. Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, make an “O” sound. Then, close your lips and make an “N” sound until the breath is fully released. Inhale again and repeat the process.

Focusing on these vocal sounds and experiencing their resonance in the mind can help gradually enter a meditative state.
